INFORMATION ABOUT CAIRO AND THE TOUR:
Cairo is one of the largest and most impressive cities not only in Egypt but also across the entire African continent. Stretching along both banks of the Nile River, this ancient city combines traces of the past with the vitality of the present through its thousands of years of history and rich cultural fabric. It is possible to see traces of many periods in its streets, buildings and daily life, from ancient civilizations to Islamic civilization, from Ottoman influences to the modern Arab world.
The first stop for visitors arriving in Cairo is usually the famous pyramids in the Giza area. The pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure attract attention not only for their architectural achievements but also as one of the greatest mysteries in human history. The Sphinx, which complements these magnificent structures and is an important part of the pharaohs’ burial complexes, is another symbol that fascinates visitors. The panoramic viewpoint on the pyramid plateau is one of the most special places to admire these unique works from above.
When you reach central Cairo, the city becomes even more colorful. The Egyptian National Museum is one of the world’s most important archaeology museums, exhibiting artifacts dating back to ancient times. In particular, the golden mask and other treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb are among the rare pieces that visitors examine with admiration. The museum’s rich collection brings together thousands of years of historical objects from the Old, Middle and New Kingdom periods.
The city is also one of the rare places where traces of the three major Abrahamic religions—Islam, Christianity and Judaism—can be found together. The Cairo Citadel, commissioned by Saladin, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque within it are among the finest examples of Ottoman architecture in North Africa. The other mosques, churches and synagogues around the citadel reveal the city’s history of tolerance. The Hanging Church in the Coptic Quarter and the Abu Serga Church, where Jesus is believed to have taken refuge during his childhood, hold special significance for Christian visitors.
As you walk through Cairo’s streets, you can feel a spirit caught between the grandeur of the past and the chaos of the present. Perhaps the place where this dual character is felt most strikingly is the Khan el Khalili bazaar. In this market, where trade has been conducted in its narrow streets for hundreds of years, it is possible to find everything from traditional handicrafts and spices to gold jewelry and papyrus paintings. Sitting in the historic cafés inside the bazaar and sipping Egypt’s distinctive mint tea or karkade is one of the most enjoyable moments of forming a connection with the city.
Another unique Cairo experience is the evening cruises on the Nile River. As the city lights reflect on the surface of the water, dinner cruises accompanied by boats gliding along the Nile allow visitors to experience the romantic and mystical atmosphere of Egyptian nights. Despite the city’s crowds, this journey on the water is one of the rare moments that also conveys Cairo’s calmer side.
Cairo is captivating not only for its historical structures but also for its multilayered culture, lively urban life and unique views. Woven with stories stretching from ancient civilizations to the present day, this city promises its visitors not merely a holiday but a profound journey. For this reason, exploring Cairo is not simply travel; it is embarking on a journey through time itself.
INFORMATION ABOUT OUR EXTRA TOUR CAMPAIGNS
As part of our tour package, we offer you, our valued guests, a Panoramic Cairo City Tour accompanied by professional guides. On other days, you have the opportunity to participate in different tour and activity options carefully organized by our local teams specialized in the region. However, we would like to make an important warning at this point: our standard Tours are organized by our company to provide you with a safer experience against the negative consequences that may arise from illegal and questionable organizations operating through social media or around hotels in the region. These tours are generally focused on low costs and fall short of expectations in terms of service quality and safety standards.
We strongly recommend that guests whose budgets allow them participate in our PLUS TOURS, which offer high-level experiences in terms of safety, comfort and quality.
